Drainage & Ditches

Start With Where the Water Goes

A ditch for water coming down a hillside is a different job from a buried drain for a soggy yard. We look at where the water enters, the slope, and a suitable outlet before recommending a fix.

Our compact excavator suits smaller property drainage work. We check machine access, buried utilities, and where excavated soil will go before setting the scope.

Adding a shed, garage, or a wider gravel drive? It helps to plan the runoff before the ground is reshaped. We can assess drainage alongside the grading so water has a suitable route away from the new work.

Send wide photos of the uphill area, the wet or washed-out spot, and the route you think the water takes. Photos during or just after rain are useful when you can take them safely.

Free estimates, straight answers.

We'll look at the job, explain the work, and quote it clearly before anything starts.

Our Drainage & Ditches Services

Hillside Runoff & Diversion Ditches

Ditches and surface channels to intercept runoff before it reaches the house or driveway, where the slope and outlet allow it.

Drainage Trenches & Ditch Cleanout

Digging new drainage routes or restoring silted-in private ditches. Pipe, stone, spoil removal, and finish work are agreed in the quote.

French Drain Installation

Buried drainage for suitable wet yard areas, with pipe, stone, and a discharge route selected for the site rather than a one-size-fits-all layout.

Culvert Installation & Repair

Small driveway crossings and damaged culvert replacement after reviewing water flow, access, pipe needs, and any required approvals.

Driveway Runoff & Minor Grading

Small grading corrections and drainage along gravel drives to address low spots and washout. Larger slope failures need a different scope.

Water Collecting Near the House

Exterior drainage assessment where runoff collects near a home. We explain what our excavation work can address and when a specialist is needed.

Drainage & Ditches FAQ

Can you dig a ditch for water running down a hill toward my house?
Yes, that is the kind of small drainage job we assess. We first need to see the slope, water entry point, access, and where the ditch could discharge. A safe, suitable outlet matters as much as the ditch itself.
Do I need a ditch or a French drain?
That depends on whether the problem is surface runoff, saturated ground, or both. We will look at the site before recommending an open ditch, buried drain, culvert, or grading work.
Can you clean out a ditch or replace a driveway culvert?
We assess private ditch cleanout and small driveway culvert jobs. Work near public roads, shared drainage, or other properties may need additional coordination or approvals before we can proceed.
How much does drainage work cost?
Length and depth are only part of it. Access, soil and rock, the outlet, pipe and stone, hauling, and final grading all affect the quote. Send photos and an approximate length so we can arrange a useful site review.
Do you handle commercial drainage work?
Yes. We work on commercial properties, parking lots, and multi-building sites when the project fits our equipment.
